Day six
Hey it's Sunday and the campsite Les Lumes is great. Slept really well last night, no rowdies or traffic just the white noise of a nearby river, which sent me to sleep. Feeling great this morning and as it is Sunday I have decided to remain here today as I have electricity, WiFi, hot showers and maybe even some sun later. Sat outside on a bench typing on my laptop on the table, all very civilised. May even be able to do some clothes washing if the sun shows itself. Still surprisingly cold though for the time of year and location.
Scenes of the local canals and locks near to the campsite taken this afternoon. Sun did not really show itself so had to forgo a big wash. It was a welcomed rest and tomorrow by all accounts I have hills to climb, which should be interesting.
Hallo Jan, schön zu lesen, dass Du dich gut erholt hast. Ich habe versprochen, Dich auf dem Laufenden zu halten. Here we go. Gestern bin ich bis Rans/Ranchot gefahren, etwas hinter Besançon. Es hat einen wunderschönen Campingplatz dort mit guten Bürgern - Entschädigung für die Strapazen zu Beginn mit den Bergen. Beim "Klettern" habe ich auf Deine Technik mit dem Zählen bis 50 zurückgegriffen - dann ging es fast von allein. ;-) Heute bin ich in Chalon-sur-Saône gelandet. Das war lang! Unterwegs hat mich ein Franzose aus der Gegend auf seinem Rennrad begleitet und wir haben uns nett unterhalten - so denn meine Brocken Französisch das hergaben. Aber so konnte ich auch wieder etwas üben. Das war eine große Freude, eine nette Begleitung zu haben! Insgesamt war es ein sehr schöner und sonniger Tag. Nur vermisse ich jetzt ein wenig den beschaulichen Doubs, denn die Saône ist schon etwas größer und die Gegend drumherum weitläufiger... Ich hoffe, Du hattest heute ebenso einen schönen Tag und die Sonne genossen. Beste Grüße et à bientôt, Gesine
ReplyDeleteHi Gesine ... Just got into my tent (22:30) south of Besanson. Wild camping again as I missed the 19:00 deadline for the campsite just before Besancon. I too am headed for Chalon tomorrow. So 76km today, more than intended and I even considered riding through the night. Total crazy man. Beautiful ride today from our mutal campsite. The best yet, I think. Look forward to any comments on your progress, take cate and stay safe. Enjoy the moment. Funny you mentioned that 50 counting. I told that to two German ladies today as we together pushed our bikes up a hill. Hah! Whatever helps. Have fun.
