Day Twelve
I leave wild camp 3 at 8:30 after a reasonable night that felt safe and was comfortable. Once again it was on the edge of a farmer's field and far away from roads, houses and people. In fact the only sound through the night was an owl and the odd car traveling down the road I had turned off.
What remains of wild camp 3, just before leaving.
I arrive in Lyon just before midday and it is very hot. After a brief lunch on the river (see photo below) I decide to move on south to find a campsite as all my batteries are close to empty. I find one on the outskirts of Lyon and arrive around 14:30. I considered having a rest day tomorrow and staying another day, but having arrived early and only put in 50km today I feel happy giving that a miss. Also the campsite is expensive (6 euros for electricity for one night). Of course this is Lyon and prices are bound to be higher. I have a backlog of photos and no idea what they are or where they belong, which is a shame. I don't know how these YouTube bloggers manage to upload videos from the outback of Africa, I cannot seem to upload two photos and some text without it taking hours.
Lunch in Lyon beside the river.
